Overview

Chef’s Partner is a food brand that works within the catering industry providing insight and information to  restaurant management and senior employees. With a monthly publication updating readers with news and views that relate to their food service business.

The CHallenge

It was important that the publication was at the heart of the branding process. Knowing the ultimate destination for the brand focussed the design on it’s application.

The client wanted the brand to be simple, clean and flexible so that it could be applied across any future product and/or service developments in the future.

The appearance of the magazine needed to encompass a stylish, modern and attractive design with the flexibility to change by issue.

The solution

Following a comprehensive research and brand exploration process, we developed and delivered a unique identity that fitted the brand perfectly. We worked to create a brand positioning statement, tone of voice, visual appearance and overall strategic direction for the brand.

The concept development process concentrated on utilising a two-tone colour scheme and a strong eye-catching icon that sat at the top of a circular shape.

In addition to this we worked to develop the titling for the publication and positioned the new logo within this for maximum impact and repetition of the brand name.

Allowing the imagery within the magazine to add the major impact when placed alongside a carefully curated typographic execution delivers a stunning, yet highly readable publication.

Results

The launch of the new brand was a great success with lots of industry coverage. The magazine has continued to grow exponentially with readership numbers growing year-on-year.

Due to the growth of the brand and the ongoing success of the publication, the brand owners themselves are working on a number of further avenues through which to develop and exploit their brand position within a competitive market sector.
