Overview

Our client was planning to create a new publication that concentrated solely on the luxury property market and required a brand creating to support it in addition to the design and delivery of the new magazine.

The CHallenge

With a tight initial deadline, it was important that we were able to quickly and succinctly establish the characteristics and direction of the new brand. This was all whilst ensuring the design and brand application were in line with the creative and business objectives of the company.

The client specifically wanted a logotype, colour scheme and style that provided a traditional, established feel that would meet the expectations of the target consumer.

The solution

We supported the firm with a clear strategic direction that was arrived at following industry, market and consumer research. The design of the brand identity centred around the use of a traditional serif typeface family. The colour scheme was carefully developed to offer a luxury feel through muted tones and simple, consistent application.

The strong appeal of the subject matter of the magazine meant that getting the style right was crucial.

The design follows a flexible structure in order to allow the content to flow, key information to be easily read and understood and the feel of the publication to closely represent the brand. Having a brand vehicle such as a magazine enabled the company to quickly and directly gain the trust of readers through messaging and positioning.

Results

The launch of the magazine was a great success with readership growing issue-to-issue. In addition to the initial brand identity design and development, we were also able to support the brand through the design and application of a number of creative elements.

These included an outdoor advertising campaign in key strategic locations along with collateral for event sponsorship and exhibition graphics. The strong visual identity ensured a consistent delivery of the brand messaging. This enabled the business to be positioned precisely where consumers were able to engage with it most closely.
